Automatic updating graphs in excel
Basically, I'd like to create a table that shows icons based on data, like in Excel? So I am at work workin on this report and I need a function that will make Excel automatically insert the today's date in a cell (let's say D90) when I fill the content of another cell (for example C90) and the that will be inserted will never change.I know I could paste a pre-made Excel table as a picture, but I'd like to avoid that if possible. I tried to use the =TODAY( ) function but it keeps updating the date in the cell to the current date if i reopen the worksheet 2 days later. One is a line graph that tracks hours used in that department per month. Is there a tricky way to get all three on one graph?I know I could split on two graphs, so that's my backup plan.I need the cell to keep in the cell the date of the day when I filled in the content of cell C90 and do not updated it every time i open the document to the actual date.. The problem is that when it gets to the last month, and there is not yet data for future months, the line goes down to Zero (leavin this big diagonal line that makes the data look funny).I need this line to stop on the last month there is data for.I realize that after I change cell A1 I could tab to cell B1 and enter Ctrl ; but if I have a hundred new prices to enter I don't want to do that (plus me or the data entry person might forget). I'm using the following code - Sub Print PDF() Filename = "C:\Documents and Settings\samb\My Documents\" & Active Sheet. Value Send Keys Filename & "", False Active Window. Print Out Copies:=1, Active Printer:= _ "Adobe PDF:", Collate:=True End Sub The macro prints to PDF, but then it stops at the Save As stage, where I have to manually enter the name of the file and click Save. A Macro in this file creates a Copy of a specific Sheet within the Active Workbook and I want to Save it to the individual's Desktop.
I tried to search for an answer using the search function, but I kept getting a fatal error about allowable memory? Hello, I am copying charts to display the same information for different regions. When I work on the copied region, I find it a cumbersome task to go through each charts source data and change the cell references to the different region.Essentially I am doing a trending analysis for each region, with a region having its own sheet with 5 charts per sheet.I can't embed the graphs because the file size is too big.So my question: Is there a way (a macro, a linking technique) to have these pasted graphs updated in Powerpoint automatically when a change is made in Excel? Thanks, Dino Is there a way to use the new conditional formats (data bars, icon sets, etc) in Power Point?
